자연과 조화롭게 호흡하는 '사유의 안식처'로 기획된 이 공간은, 전통적인 구조미 위에 현대적인 미니멀리즘을 병치함으로써 마치 시간이 멈춘 듯한 깊은 정적을 불러일으킵니다.

처마 끝을 타고 흐르는 리드미컬한 빗소리와 정원을 가득 채운 싱그러운 풀내음은 오감을 깨우고, 창을 통해 펼쳐지는 ‘차경(借景)’의 미학은 변화하는 계절의 흐름을 내부로 자연스럽게 들여옵니다.
밤이 깊어 기와 위로 내려앉는 달빛은 공간의 질감을 더욱 깊이 있게 만들며, 머무는 이에게 단순한 숙박을 넘어선 근원적인 휴식과 영감을 선사합니다.

구조적으로는 한옥 목조 프레임 특유의 수직·수평적 리듬을 보존하는 동시에, 현대적인 소재를 과감하게 교차시켜 극적인 조형미를 연출했습니다.
어두운 목재 톤과 정교하게 설계된 조명의 대비는 공간에 입체적인 깊이감을 더해주며, 한지의 섬세한 질감은 빛을 부드럽게 확산시켜 공간 전체를 온화하고 신비로운 빛으로 감쌉니다.

A Sanctuary of Contemplation: Where Moonlight Lingers in the Heart of the City

Nestled within the urban quietude where moonlight lingers, this project embodies the serene essence of the Hanok. Conceived as a "sanctuary for contemplation" that breathes in harmony with nature, it juxtaposes traditional structural aesthetics with modern minimalism to evoke a profound sense of stillness, as if time itself has paused.

The rhythmic patter of rain cascading from the eaves and the verdant fragrance of the garden awaken the senses, while the art of Chagyeong—the "borrowed scenery" framed by the windows—seamlessly integrates the shifting seasons into the interior. As night falls, moonlight descending over the roof tiles deepens the spatial textures, offering occupants a transformative experience of rest and inspiration that transcends mere accommodation.

Architecturally, the design preserves the characteristic vertical and horizontal rhythms of the Hanok’s timber frame, punctuated by a bold interplay of contemporary materials. The strategic contrast between dark wood tones and curated lighting adds sculptural depth, while the delicate texture of Hanji (traditional paper) diffuses light to bathe the space in a warm, ethereal glow.
