적층된 시간의 공존.

본 프로젝트는 재개발 지구 내, 오랜 시간을 버텨온 단독주택을 현대적인 로스터리 카페로 재탄생시키는 작업이었습니다. '새로움'을 위해 옛것을 지우기보다, 건축물이 가진 고유의 헤리티지(Heritage)를 존중하며 현대적인 물성을 덧입히는 방식을 택했습니다. 붉은 벽돌이라는 과거의 텍스처 위에 스테인리스 스틸과 유리라는 현대적 소재를 대입하여, 과거와 현재가 공존하는 시각적 긴장감을 의도했습니다.

내부는 외부의 붉은 벽돌과 강렬한 보색 대비를 이루는 'Green'을 포인트 컬러로 설정했습니다. 이는 배치브루 디스펜서가 위치한 쇼케이스와 곳곳의 플랜테리어로 발현되어 공간에 생동감을 부여합니다. 베이스는 따뜻한 백색의 스타코와 무게감 있는 블랙 타일을 매치하여 모노톤의 차분함을 유지하되, 자칫 단조로워질 수 있는 무채색 공간에 소재의 질감(Texture) 차이를 두어 시각적 리듬감을 부여했습니다.

이곳은 '배치브루(Batch Brew)'라는 진보적인 추출 방식을 도입한 트렌디한 공간입니다. 이러한 브랜드 정체성은 금속과 유리의 차가운 물성을 통해 실험실(Lab)과 같은 전문적인 분위기로 구현되었습니다. 가구 디자인에 있어서는 스테인리스 스틸의 시크함을 유지하되, 곡선 요소를 가미하여 권위적인 느낌을 배제하고 사용자를 부드럽게 감싸는 미니멀리즘을 지향했습니다.

조명은 공간의 표정을 결정짓는 핵심 요소로 작용합니다. 일반적인 천장 바리솔 조명을 벽면으로 과감히 전이시켜, 외부인에게는 호기심을 유발하는 파사드 요소로, 내부에서는 매립형 스피커와 결합된 청각적 경험의 장치로 기능하게 했습니다. 전체적인 조도는 건축화 조명과 미니멀한 보조 조명을 통해 은은하게 조율하여, 커피와 음악에 온전히 집중할 수 있는 몰입도 높은 환경을 조성했습니다.

Project Title: Coexistence of Layered Time

This project was a transformation of a detached house that had weathered long years within a redevelopment district into a modern roastery cafe. Rather than erasing the old to make way for the "new," we chose a method of overlaying modern materiality while respecting the building's inherent heritage. By juxtaposing modern materials—such as stainless steel and glass—against the past texture of red brick, we orchestrated a visual tension where the past and present coexist.

For the interior, "Green" was designated as the point color to create a striking complementary contrast with the exterior red brick. This is expressed through the showcase housing the batch brew dispenser and various planterior elements, infusing vitality into the space. The base palette matches warm white stucco with weighty black tiles to maintain a calm, monotone atmosphere. To prevent the achromatic space from feeling flat, we varied the textures of the materials to impart a visual rhythm.

This venue is a trendy space introducing the progressive extraction method known as "Batch Brew." This brand identity was realized through the cold materiality of metal and glass, creating a professional, laboratory-like atmosphere. In furniture design, while maintaining the chic aesthetic of stainless steel, we incorporated curved elements to eliminate any authoritative presence, aiming for a minimalism that softly embraces the user.

Lighting serves as the key element defining the spatial expression. We boldly shifted the typical ceiling Barrisol lighting to the walls; this functions as a facade element that intrigues passersby, while internally serving as a device for auditory experience combined with built-in speakers. The overall illumination was subtly tuned using architectural lighting and minimal auxiliary lights, creating a highly immersive environment focused entirely on coffee and music.
